Since its inception in 1988,American Video Equipment (AVE) has provided high end Closed Circuit Television solutions to the largely ignored low-end retail market. At the time, the cost of CCTV equipment was out of reach for most of these potential customers.

AVE's innovations added value to off-the-shelf, mass produced CCTV products, making a CCTV picture into a theft detection and identification solution. Camera switchers, screen splitters, and tilters were some of the first products offered.The VSI cash register-to-video interface came soon after and was the key to national and international recognition.AVE has since developed products for various markets including small retail stores, gas stations, casinos, restaurants, mobile video, military, and more.

The new MVD-R4000POS Digital Video Recorder from AVE is a full-featured digital recorder with LAN connection. It allows security personnel to quickly locate questionable P0S transactions on video. Featuring critical image storage to an SD card, text insertion for POS and ATM interfacing, powerful search options and more, the MVDR4000 is also compatible with AVE cash register interface products.
