EX40N / EX40NX Hi-Impact Dome Camera with Varifocal Lens

The EX40N and NX domes are Hi-Impact, vandal-resistant domes with Integrated Day-Night design for up to 40 feet Night Vision.

The EX40N and NX domes use performance cameras with high infrared spectral response, including Extreme’s LXR type CCDs for excellent IR sensitivity, low smear, low streak and excellent anti-blooming characteristics. Photocell-control of the infrared ensures enough light is present to deliver an outstanding picture on a 24/7 basis. Varifocal, auto-iris lens ensure excellent optical performance.

The dome is packed with installer-friendly features, including Video Patch Leads (VPL) for "in-situ" video review on portable test monitors. The proprietary Pan-Tilt-Twist gimbal allows versatile positioning of the CCD and lens and instant centering of the video image. Internal fastening hardware is thermally and mechanically optimised for enhanced reliability. EX40N/NX domes are conduit compatible for easy installation onto standard electrical fittings. Varifocal, auto-iris lenses not only allow easy installation, but also help to prevent "washed-out" images under IR.

EX40N/NX features base construction of CNC machined anodised aluminum, the same material used to protect satellites from the severe environments of outer space. Anodised aluminum is highly durable with excellent corrosion and heat resistance. Unlike other finishes, it has astounding chemical stability and will resist changes to color or appearance, even under heavy exposure to ultraviolet rays. The one-piece CNC fabrication process ensures the highest degree of precision and unyielding mechanical strength.

A polycarbonate dome of 3mm thickness is utilized to protect the internal camera components. Resistant to impact, fire, heat and UV, the polycarbonate dome is guaranteed unbreakable in the face of even the most vicious attacks by vandals. The weather-sealed EX40N/NX is specified for performance in temperatures ranging from -50ºC to +60ºC (-58ºF to +140ºF) and certified for safe, legal installs.
